Community Management Questions for this Friday’s SMBMSP?

By , 26 October, 2011, 2 Comments

So, the fabulous Meg Knodl, senior librarian, communications and community engagement at Hennepin County Library, and I are having a conversation (emphasis on conversation; this is not a presentation) about community management with the Social Media Breakfast -MSP crew this Friday. We are coming prepared with a few talking points, but I thought I’d throw it out there to you guys in the event you’re interested in deep-diving into a particular niche of community management.

Please share any must-cover topics or questions you have surrounding community management in comments so we can try to incorporate into our discussion, okay? I look forward to seeing some of you there, and if you live in Minnesota and aren’t registered to come, you should;-) Happy Wednesday!

I’m looking forward to seeing you and Meg talk about this topic, Lisa. I have a few questions about community management:
     - What are your best tips for encouraging comments/interaction with the community?
     - Do you recruit new members to your community actively or do you have a “build it and they will come” mentality?
     - What are your best tips for finding the right conversations? Do you have a methodology for “bringing up the topic” with your community?
     - How do you keep people coming back? Even tougher, how do you get them to continue to interact with the community?

I’ve seen some resources in these areas, but am looking forward to your opinions about what has worked for you and Meg. See you tomorrow!
